Lake Country Art Gallery Mural

During the summer of 2019 The Lake Country Art Gallery had worked with some of us local syilx artists to create a exhibition at the gallery that was focused on water. Coinciding was the opportunity to occupy the public mural space in the front of the gallery.

With the focus of the exhibition inside the gallery I chose to create a street art piece that would honour and speak to the work of the indigenous Water Protectors. At a time when water protection is on the forefront of indigenous issues I felt like utilizing the space to create a protest piece that the local youth could connect with. This project was done in collaboration with my niece and fellow syilx artist Nizhoni Dubrett.
