Downtown Kelowna Association Mural
As part of the Downtown Kelowna Association's Beautification Project I was contacted September of 2019 to create a collaborative mural in the downtown area of Kelowna at the intersection of Leon and Water Street. The intent of the project was to connect artists, community, not for profit, to enhance the visual of the area as well as reclaim some community space.
When asked I was certainly interested on using this opportunity to have some fun but most importantly create some art that would inform the local residents of the central Okanagan that this was Syilx Territory. The design was a revamp of the initial VPAG Riot on the Roof Syilx Street Art mural. The revision of this image was inspired by the Andy Warhol. I revised this to become SYILX 2.0. It became a colourful addition to the downtown core.
